Popular Australian Holiday Destinations – North Tamborine

North Tamborine is famous in Gold Coast Australia as the first national park reserve of Queensland. It is not very far away from the Gold Coast beaches, just about 30 minutes drive. Relics of old plants that are more than 150 million old like unusual cycads can be found on this mountain. Zamia Grove is one place where you can find rare cycads.

The world’s largest birdwing and skink butterflies, known as Albert’s Lyrebird, can be seen only in North Tamborine. The Knoll and Witches Falls is a favorite picnic spot for all visitors to Gold Coast. The cheeses in Witches Chase near the falls will satisfy any gourmet.

The Tamborine district includes North Tamborine, Mount Tamborine, and Eagle Heights. You can spend days exploring the beautiful environments. However, nature is not the only part of North Tamborine. The row of stores called Gallery Walk provides local art, craft, and gift materials, along with fresh farm produce. You will be astounded as to what you can buy and what can be ignored.

Eagle Heights is a definite ‘must see’ village located in Mount Tamborine and should be included on all trips to the hinterland. Eagle Heights Gold Coast offers views from the northern reaches of Morton Bay to the southern border town of Tweed Heads. Gold Coast accommodation around Egle Heights includes lodges, B&B;’s, motels, and resorts. While there is no questioning.

the beautiful natural attractions there are World Heritage national parks, Gold Coast theme parks, shopping opportunities, wineries, and plenty of other attractions in Eagle Heights. You can travel to Eagle Heights from Brisbane airport which will take approximately 50 minutes, from Surfers Paradise. If you want to come to Eagle Heights from Surfers Paradise, it will take around 40 minutes and from Coolangatta, it is about an hour’s drive.

Mount Tamborine is another place that should be included in your Gold Coast holiday plan. It is behind the city of the Gold Coast, formed by the lava that outpoured from Mount Warning. The rainforest areas in this serene place with breathtaking waterfalls and quiet streams are Mother Nature in her full grandeur. The Cameron Falls, the Witches Falls, and the Cedar Creek Falls are the best places for family fun.

Crops like avocado, macadamia nuts, and kiwifruit are the specialty in this area. If you are a wildlife lover, you can see Wallabies, Scrub Turkeys, Lyrebirds, Lorikeets, and Platypus on Mount Tamborine. If you can climb the top of the mountain, you can view from Brisbane to Mount Warning in the entire Gold Coast area.

Gold Coast hotels and Gold Coast resorts in North Tamborine are not the usual type of Gold Coast accommodation that you will expect. The 4.5 stars rated Camelot is purely for romantic couples with big budgets. The Avocado Sunset Bed and Breakfast is also costly with themed guest suites.

The same is the case with Cottages on Tamborine Mountain, Lisson Grove Boutique Resort, Songbirds Rainforest Retreat, Witches Falls Cottages, and the costliest Pethers Rainforest Retreat. The best way to enjoy North Tamborine is to stay at cheaper Gold Coast hotels and Gold Coast resorts in places like Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach and take a tour for a day or two.
